Imagine a world where your favorite actress is a 100-year old vampire, the star quarterback on your favorite NFL team has the ability to shape-shift, and the guy who delivers your mail every morning at the office is a witch thinking about his next spell.
A secret city surrounded by razor wire and government checkpoints. Necropolis was born out of fear. Fear from the otherworldly beings that finally had come out of their closets and declared their true nature. Led by an enterprising popular musician who revealed to the world on national television that he was a lycan, even shifting into wolf form to prove it, the Otherworld Rebellion took the United States by surprise.
Year after year, more citizens stepped out from the shadows and announced their Otherworld status. Soon, one out of every 1000 people registered as Otherworlders. Fear and violence escalated against the OWs to the point where just being pale or extra hairy would be considered grounds for ridicule and prejudice.
Finally, after pressure from certain state senators, one rumored to be hiding a witch son, the government found a place for the growing community to settle. Situated in the vast state of Texas near the city of San Antonio, but still far enough away from the rest of society for the Otherworlders to find relative safety. A place of their own. One where they could live, work, govern and police themselves.
Necropolis was born.
And with it, they were given a mayor to administer, a police department to serve and protect, and a crime unit, affectionately called The Boneyard, to investigate crimes against their own.
